CakesForKids Charity Event

Guess the number of cakes in this record-breaking giant cupcake

[Answer at the bottom of the page]

On Friday 14th November in Milton Keynes, cakesforkids achieved a record breaking line of cupcakes, measuring 1,604.75m.

This was a charity event close to our head office in Northampton, so when our Managing Director Mark Thomason was  approached to donate the structure and some manpower for installation, he was happy to get involved. Many of our suppliers kindly donated materials and the Elevations workshop fit in production between a hectic schedule of trade shows.

Cakes were baked by schools, community groups and individual bakers from across the region. While most of the cakes were housed in the giant cupcake structure built for the attempt, others were snaked around in a continuous line – as cakes for the attempt continued to flood in.

Monies raised are going to three charities; BBC Children in Need, Leo’s Appeal at Milton Keynes Hospital and the Lovebug fund for Neve.

Leo’s Appeal is a local fundraising appeal for local people – benefiting thousands of children and families in the Milton Keynes area who use the children’s wards.

Neve Day is a little girl who has recently been fully diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy. This affects all Neve’s limbs, so that she is presently not able to sit unaided. Funds raised by cakesforkids will go towards enabling Neve to have ABR treatment abroad.

Answer: 26,746 cupcakes
